YES! You are 'responsible' too!

Whether you 'did it' or you 'didn't' you are responsible. Stop being a cellular hermit or a blabby mouth and take a look around.

You made what you see. Whether its people discarding their old cell phones improperly and filling the landfill pile to the tippy top or lacking and dismissing all social graces whatsoever and being loud and ghetto on your cell phone in places of worship, weddings, piano recitals or during personal time, you are responsible for it. Either you do it yourself or you allow it to happen and therefore your silence is a sign of consent.

Short and Sweet

Everybody has a phone. Not everyone has awareness of how their phone affects everything and upsets their environment and everything around them over time (living and virtual). Take a look at your friends and family pre and post cell phone acquisition. In this section you will learn how to take back your life (sort of, I am going to try to work with you) and build awareness of the following:
* Cellular Etiquette
* Leashing the Wireless Mutt
* How to Detox from BlackBerry
* Recycling Your Cell Phone
* Sell Back Your Cell Phone
* Solar Charging Bags

Nice and Slow

Yes, I used to sell cell phones and therefore, I indirectly contributed to the problem as well, however, by the same token I have always taken great interest and responsibility in consumer education as it pertains to cellular and wireless and overall quality of life. I always gave my customer's sh-- when they became impatient or controlling to me or others because of their cell phone/BlackBerry addiction, or when they did not recycle or sell back their old cell phones.

Don't get angry at me or the cell phone provider or your peers when your bill is out of control or your phone doesn't work. Be a part of the solution not the problem. When you yell and cuss and carry on at the few people willing to help you then you make things even more difficult for yourself. Do your due diligence and pay attention to the things happening in your immediate environment. If you want to gripe about something, gripe about how public buildings and cities are abandoning municipal wi-fi. While it is silly to try to make it work in every square foot, they could at least put it in public spaces where the community gathers i.e. the library, social services and empoloyment services etc. Gripe at your spouse who is on their BlackBerry 24x7. It is not BlackBerry's fault, it is your spouse's fault who completely lacks self-discipline and has a complete disconnect with what is going on in their immediate environment.

Don't throw your old cell phones in a drawer or in the trash. You can recycle or sell back your old cell phone through many a companies or turn them in at your local police station which reissues them to women in domestic violent households.

Use a solar bag to charge your cell phone or ipod or what have you. Granted it takes a little longer than a wall charger, if you stop talking so much about nonsense the battery wouldn't run down so fast :)

A little awareness goes a long way. All you have to do is occasionally slow down a wee bit, listen, look and engage in your environment. Live and learn!
