Nice and Slow

As every customer I have that has an iPhone is always like I want to do this NOW and this NOW and this NOW, I am going to cut to the chase and just go ahead and give you the lowdown on the showdown. Without getting too personal or political, BlackBerry is my first love. A BlackBerry is a business tool. Everything from a security standpoint to the remote management of the device, I totally love. I can be on the other side of the world (and many times I have) and a frantic customer can call and say I am having XYZ problem and I know that I can solve it from afar within minutes. An Apple iPhone on the other hand...well I will say when it came out I thought it was cool because of the hype and branding around it and Steve Jobs is truly a marketing genius. But when I thought it I did not think it was exceptional for it's price point. I honestly thought it was doomed for failure and I can't say that in 2008 I will feel much differently. I like the diversity and controversy brings to the industry but I don't think they can truly ever do what they want without being bullied or put in a stranglehold by the carriers. BlackBerry on the other hand came into the industry quietly and learned to play creatively in that space. I don't know how long Apple will be able to remain at the 'mercy' of the carriers. We'll see, but in the meantime and between time, let's get started.
